Workin' Man
Workin ManWorkin ManI’ve been very fortunate in having some of the finest musicians in Canada help to create my music. First and foremost, if you are enjoying this CD you are enjoying the incredible talents of my good friend Steve Sherman. With only the exceptions listed below, he played bass, rhythm guitar, lead guitar (acoustic and electric) on all tracks. He also added some percussion on “Have a Good Life” and keyboards on “Never Change a Thing”, all the while engineering and producing the entire project. Steve is a truly exceptional talent and a kind and gentle soul. Thanks Steve. The only other player to appear on all tracks is another dear friend, Max Styles. Quite simply the best drummer/percussionist I’ve had the privilege to work with and another kind and gentle soul. Thanks Max. Other than a few spots where I sang background vocals, Bob Segarini and Jade Dunlop performed all the B.G.’s. Bob was making great records when I was still learning G, Em, C & D and Jade is performing on her first CD at an age when I was still learning G, Em C & D. You will be hearing more of her, I’m sure. Thanks Bob and Jade.Guest performers included David Henman and Norm Hartshorne on “The Rest of Our Lives” playing lead guitar and bass respectively. Our music and our lives are intertwined. The same song has Ty Templeton on piano and organ. Ty also added his talent on piano to “The Norm” and designed and provided the wonderful artwork. That beautiful pedal steel on “Another Hank Williams Night”, “The Norm”, “That’s Not Me” and “Never Change a Thing” was created by Pete Gray and I’m grateful he could share his talents and get some time free from his busy schedule with his band Rueben Cherry. My friend Robbie Hancock added his dulcet vocal stylings to “Your Name”. Thanks to all. I don’t have room to explain the reasons why the following non-performers have to be thanked, but believe me they do. They will know why. My most heartfelt gratitude to Cindy Dunlop, Dave Bailey, Sebastian Agnello, Crawford Reid, Doug McArthur, Suzie Burmester, Peter Harris and Norm Hartshorne (again).

And, as always, to Greta and Gerreke.

The next Glenn Reid/Bambrick Records CD is set for a spring 2007 release, the working title is “I’m In” and the new songs reflect, again, Glenn’s experiences through falling in love, battling cancer (and winning, so far), getting married, reflecting on his beloved Nova Scotia and much, much more. Also on the new CD will be, included as a bonus track, Glenn’s first recorded Christmas song entitled “This Christmas Time”. Glenn’s fans can look forward in the coming days to this song being made available as a free download on this site as a Christmas greeting for all from the Reid family.

As Ross Allen at Hillcrest is wont to say, “The best is yet to come!”

Workin’ Man started garnering attention from the industry almost immediately. TO-nite magazine said it’s “certainly up to Nashville standards” and that “You’ll want to get this CD now!” Max Achatz of Country Jukebox in Germany said "Another Hank Williams Night is reason enough alone to buy this CD."
